Use these phrases and questions when you are at a restaurant to order food.

Can I see the menu, please?

Waiter: What would you like to order, Sir?

Customer: Can I see the menu, please?

Waiter: Certainly. Here you are.

Customer: Thank you.

(The customer takes a look at the menu and says.)

Customer: I’d like to order grilled chicken and rice.

Waiter: Would you like anything to drink with your meal, Sir?

Customer: Yes, I’d like a bottle of mineral water.

(Waiter returns with the food after a few minutes and places it on the table.)

Waiter: Enjoy your meal!

Customer: Thank you.

(After a few minutes the waiter returns.)

Waiter: Would you like to order anything else?

Customer: No thanks. Can I have the bill, please?

Waiter: Sure. That will be $56.

Customer: Here you are. Keep the change!

Waiter: Thank you. Have a nice day!

Customer: Bye.

Do you have a reservation?

Hostess: Hi and welcome to Hotel Marina. Do you have a reservation?

Customer: No, we don’t. Do you have any free tables this evening?

Hostess: Let me see. How many are in your party?

Customer: Four.

Hostess: You’re in luck! We’ve got a table for four. Come this way, please. (The hostess shows the table to the customer.)

Customer: Could we get a table by the window?

Hostess: No. All those tables are reserved tonight.

Customer: It’s okay. No problem. We’ll sit here.
