This, these, that, those worksheet

This, that, these and those are distributive pronouns. They can be used as determiners with nouns to refer to either people or things. When these words are used without nouns, they normally only refer to things.

We use this and these to talk about people and things which are close to the speaker. We use that and those to refer to people or things which are more distant from the speaker. That is also used to talk about people or things that are not present or about actions or situations that happened in the past.

Complete the following sentences using this or that.
