I’ll just grab something to eat.
Storyline: Susie is so busy with her work that she doesn’t even have time to sit down and have a proper meal.
Mary: Where’re you heading in such a rush?
Susie: I’m heading to the canteen to grab something to eat. I’ll be back in a minute.
Mary: Why do you have to rush all the time? Why can’t you sit down and enjoy a meal?
Susie: I’d like to, but I can’t. I’ve got to finish some important assignments. The deadlines are dangerously close.
Mary: I understand but that doesn’t mean that you’ve to ignore your health. If you keep working like this, you’re going to fall ill sometime soon.
Susie: I know, but I can’t help it.
Conversation 2
I didn’t sleep a wink last night.
Storyline: Vicky doesn’t sleep well because he is under a lot of pressure.
Mike: Vicky, you look tired. What happened?
Vicky: I didn’t sleep a wink last night.
Mike: Why? What happened? It looks like you have something on your mind. Tell me. I might be able to help you.
Vicky: Well, I’m under a lot of pressure. My boss is very pushy. Last month he assigned me some projects. Now the deadlines are near but I haven’t finished any. He will show me the door when he finds out that. I don’t know what to do. I’m very worried.
Mike: I’m very sorry to hear that. By the way, is there anything that I can do to help you?
Vicky: Well, I guess nobody can help me. But now that I’ve discussed my problems with you, I feel a whole lot better.
