Talking About Your Job | Sample Conversation
June 4th, 2018 in English Learning
Here is a sample conversation between two people about jobs.
Ashley: What do you do for a living?
Martin: I run a website.
Ashley: You run a website? That must be a lot of work.
Martin: It’s. I’ve to code the pages as well as writing content for them.
Ashley: So you are a coder and a writer.
Martin: Well, actually, I’m a bit of both.
Ashley: How interesting. And it must be challenging as well.
Martin: It’s. Building an audience is the toughest part. Once you have got a few people to read your posts, things will start getting better.
Ashley: Excuse me, if I am getting a bit too personal. Do you make a lot of money?
Martin: What do you mean by a lot of money? I earn enough to lead a comfortable life.
Ashley: You’re so lucky. I wish I could work from home just like you.
Martin: It isn’t all that difficult. First, you have to find something you are passionate about. Any self-disciplined person can work from home.
Ashley: I guess that’s going to be the toughest part for me. I don’t think I’ll do much work if I don’t have a boss breathing down my neck.
Martin: Then forget about freelancing. It isn’t for you.
Notes
When somebody breathes down your neck, they pay very close attention to what you are doing in a manner that annoys or worries you.
