Long time no see!
Long time no see! means ‘I have not seen you in a long time.’
Robin: Hi Jeena, long time no see! Where have you been keeping yourself?
Jeena: My new job is pretty demanding. I’ve got to work long hours almost every day. So I hardly ever get any time to socialize. Anyway, good to see you Robin.
Same to you!
This expression is used to say that the same thing applies to you.
Susie: Happy New Year!
Mary: Thank you. The same to you.
Another example is given below.
Mike: You’re the most difficult person I’ve ever worked with.
Harry: The same to you! (= The same comment applies to you. You’re no better than me.)
I don’t mind
I don’t mind means ‘I have no objections’.
‘You may go and swim in the sea. I don’t mind.’ (= I have no objections to your swimming in the sea.)
‘I don’t mind your smoking but you have to leave the room before you light that cigarette.’
It’s up to you
It’s up to you simply means you are the one who has to make a decision.
Ricky: Should I buy this blue shirt? What do you think?
Kate: It’s up to you. You may buy whichever shirt you like.
