Verbs exercise for kids

Verbs are action words. They tell us what the person or thing denoted by the subject does /has done / will do. Sometimes the verb may also show what happens / has happened / will happen to the subject. Examples are: work, play, sing, dance, stop, start, wait, leave, bring, take etc.

Verbs are the most important words in a sentence. We cannot make sentences without verbs.
